Miles’s Quilt

Sep 20 2008

Mile's Quilt by Joanne Hendry

Joanne Hendry is looking for a quilt belonging to her son, Miles. The quilt was last seen in 2006 or 2007 at Creme de la Creme Daycare Center in Town & Country Village in Houston. It was in her son’s bag hanging on his peg in the daycare center, and it must have gotten mixed up with another child’s belongings and never returned. The daycare never found it either.

This quilt is cot-sized. The main colors are mauve, light green, and dark green, as shown in the sketch to the left. A corner of the quilt can be seen in the photo to the right. Joanne used a New York Beauty block to make two concentric trails around the quilt. The edges are wavy and bias bound. “Miles Hendry” was written on the back of the quilt with permanent fabric pen.

If you can help, please contact Joanne through the Lost Quilt Come Home Page.

Dresden Plate Baby Quilt

Jan 28 2008

In 1998, Debra Roberts found a crib-size, Dresden-style baby quilt in Catoosa, Oklahoma in the Catoosa School’s football parking lot after a game. At the time she contacted the daycare that was across the street from the school, but no one recognized it. She also left word at the school’s administration office but, again, no one claimed it. The quilt was even left on the fence next to the parking lot for a day after it was found. Debra rescued it when the grounds crew was going to throw it away. The quilt was stained and had some minor tears. Debra has always hoped that somehow the rightful owner could be found.
This quilt is 43" by 56" and has twelve 11" squares. It has a white background and uses pink and blue flower-printed fabrics that are the same print but just different colors. It has white edging, pink borders and sashing, and blue cornerstones.
Please contact Debra through the Lost Quilt Come Home Page if this might be your quilt.

Caitlin’s Quilt

Aug 20 2002

Caitlin's Quilt by Barb Young

Barbara Young would like to find a small quilt that she made for her granddaughter, Caitlin. It is about 45″ by 45″ and it consists of squares sewn in a scrappy setting. She used red, green, blue and yellow squares with a bear fabric. The bear fabric is mainly white with black outlines of bears. Some of the bears are brown with red, green, blue and yellow bowties. This quilt is machine pieced and hand quilted. Barbara used has a cross-stitch design across the seams using embroidery floss.

The quilt was lost several years ago at Caitlin’s daycare in Zeeland, Michigan. If you have seen this quilt, please contact Barbara at [email protected].
