Katie's Graduation Quilt by Sandii Street

Katie's Graduation Quilt by Sandii Street

Sandii Street was hoping to recover Katie’s Graduation Quilt. It was last seen on February 22, 2010 in Valparaiso, Indiana. It was being sent by a shipping company when they told Sandii the quilt was destroyed by fire.

Sandii made the quilt from a commercial pattern. It is 108″ by 120″. It is machine pieced and machine quilted in 2009. The main colors are purple, pink, lime green, white, blue, and turquoise. She used very bright, primary colors which she calls “so loud you need sunglasses.” It was supposed to be a graduation gift for her granddaughter, and it was near completion when it was destroyed.

This quilt, though burned, has now been returned.

Give and Take by Beth Jacobs

Give and Take by Beth Jacobs

Beth Jacobs is searching for the “Give and Take” quilt that she made for her granddaughter, Samantha Jacobs. It was last seen in 2007 by the front door of an apartment. It was in a white, opaque plastic bag, so it may have been thrown out by a college roommate who was moving out.

This quilt is approximately 92″ by 108″. Beth used scraps as well as black, white, and blue with a black border. It was made in 1997. The quilt pattern (from “9-Patch Pizzazz: Fast, Fun & Finished in a Day” by Judy Sisneros) is also sometimes known as a “Potato Chip” quilt. There is a label hand sewn on a corner.

Please contact Beth at bethjacobs@centurytel.net.

October Wall hanging by Lou Ann Bucheimer

Lou Ann Bucheimer hopes to recover this quilt. She had it hanging in her office in Maryland in 2004 and someone took it. It was made using a pattern from a monthly series. The designer is Chris (last name forgotten) from Kansas, although Lou Ann made some adjustments to the original pattern. She changed locations of some of the design elements and she changed the coloring.

If you find this quilt, please contact Lou Ann at LouAnn.Bucheimer@hughes.com.

Baltimore Album Quilt Top

Mar 24 2009

In 1990 Susan Bergman made a Baltimore Album quilt top using commercial patterns by Elly Sienkiewicz. She made it when she took a block-of-the-month class through a store in Colleyville, Texas. Susan last saw her quilt top somewhere around 2002-2005. She had taught a quilt class at Garland High School and apparently left it behind.

The quilt top is a double size. There are twelve blocks set three across and four down. The background is a two-toned gray. Other colors include maroons and dark green. Most of the designs are from Elly’s book. There is one block with children’s handprints that were from Susan’s sons. One block is a circle of children. The blocks are hand appliqued.

Please contact Susan through the Lost Quilt Come Home Page if you’ve seen a quilt that fits this description.

Christmas Angel

Dec 12 2008

In 1986 Cathy Sisk McCoy made the Christmas Angel pattern found in Better Homes & Gardens Christmas Traditions. It is a quilt made entirely of 2-inch squares and has a red eyelet border. The finished height is about 10-12 feet. It is machine pieced and machine quilted.

This quilt was last seen in 1989 or 1990 at St. Rita Catholic Church, Fort Worth, Texas. It was removed from the storage closet. The quilt was displayed in the church for Guardian Angel Day for the school children. The director hung it in the bell tower closet for Cathy to pick up later, but when she came to get it, it was gone. It is not known if it was stolen or mistakenly given away. The quilt was very special to Cathy’s family and it was made to hang in their living room.

If you’ve seen this quilt, please contact Cathy through the Lost Quilt Come Home Page.

Frog Cabin by Linda Musillami

Frog Cabin by Linda Musillami

In 2000 Linda Musillami made a Frog Cabin quilt for her grandson, Justin Welch. In 2007 she asked her grandson if she could enter his quilt in a quilt show. The first thing he asked was, “Do I get my quilt back?” “Of couse,” Grandma told him. But sadly, the quilt got lost during shipping. It was last seen on November 5, 2007.

This 60″ by 65″ is made from a pattern from Java House Quilts. It is mostly green and blue and uses a variety of frog prints. It has a label in the top left corner which says, “Happy Birthday Justin Welch 2-1-00 Love you to the moon and Back Grandma.”

Iris Medallion

Jul 11 2008

Iris Medallion by Billie McKouen

Iris Medallion by Billie McKouen

Billie McKouen is hoping to find a quilt that she made for Tom and Sara McKouen for their wedding. It was last seen in 2004 at a storage facility in Burlington, Vermont. A police report was file when it was discovered missing.

This queen size quilt was made with purple, green, and cream fabrics in 2001. It is machine pieced, hand appliqued, and hand quilted. Billie used a commercial pattern by Mary Gomez found in “50 Country Quilting Projects,” but Billie altered the central blocks to trees and quilted names and dates. This quilt does not have a label, but the center quilting would identify Tom, Sara, Bria Rose and Noah and their birth and wedding dates.

If you find this quilt, please contact Billie through the Lost Quilt Come Home Page.
