Shady Lady and Economy

Missing
Nov 18 2011

Wendy L. Starn is asking for help looking for two of her original art quilts. These quilts were last seen in Lomita, California around October 11, 2011. They were part of a special exhibit, Then and Now, which was curated by Anne Copeland. They were being returned to Wendy when they came up missing. It is not clear if they were lost en route to either Office Depot or the Post Office in Lomita, California. They became missing along with two other quilts by Sarah Ann Smith.

“Shady Lady” is 26.75″ by 27.25″. It is an original quilt done in just black and white. It features the image of a large caladium leaf. It is fused applique, reverse applique, and machine quilted. It has a label on the lower right corner of the back which has Wendy’s contact information.

“Economy” is 19.25″ wide by 19.5″ high. It is black, white, unbleached muslin, and bandaid beige. Wendy also used white illusion netting, black Mistyfuse, and adhesive bandages. This quilt was machine quilted in 2009. It is labeled in the same way as “Shady Lady.”

If you find this quilt, please contact Wendy at [email protected].
