Recovered!
Compass Star
Nancy Goldsworthy was searching for her Compass Star quilt. Nancy writes, "This is a very special quilt to me and my mother. It is the only one of my quilts that she ever asked for. It was loaned out to hang at MQS and was lost on it's way home." It was last seen on May 16, 2009 at the Machine Quilters Showcase in Overland Park, Kansas.
Happily, at the end of June 2009, this quilt was discovered in an unmarked box in storage, and it has now been returned to a very relieved owner!
This quilt is 96" square. The main colors are green, yellow, and purple. Nancy also used pink and cream fairy frost fabric for the background. The purple fabric has sparkles. The quilt, made in 2007, is machine pieced and machine quilted. It has a label which is hand appliqued to the lower corner that says, "Made by Nancy Goldsworthy, Portland, Oregon, for my mother Irene Stephens. Happy Mother's Day."
