Recovered!
Three Stooges

In 2007 Deb Skoglund made a Three Stooges quilt for her husband, Jon. She made it as a Christmas present for Jon, who is away eight months a year. The quilt was last seen aboard the merchant marine vessel Admr. Wheeler/Guam. It was lost in the mail.

In June 2009 Deb's quilt was finally recovered at a mail facility in Guam. They had stopped mailing packages last year when the Feds moved in. A crew mate of Deb's husband stood in line for over three hours in 90+ degree heat for the chance to search for missing packages. All unclaimed packages were scheduled to be destroyed the next day. Deb writes, "He has my undying gratitude!!!"

This is a twin size quilt with matching pillow case. The blocks are set on point with insets. It features fabric with the Three Stooges faces in various colors combined with lots of dotted fabrics. The borders are black and printed with scenes from the Stooges movies. It is machine pieced and machine quilted. It is signed in fabric pen on the striped backing.
