Stacked Bricks

Coby Vander helm needs help recovering a quilt that she made for her sister. This quilt was last seen on October 23, 2004 when it was stolen from her sister's house in Calgary, Canada. The thieves took this quilt and five handmade, wooden jewelry boxes made by Coby's father. She believes they used the quilt as a sack to carry the other stolen items.

The queen size quilt is mainly black and gold. The back of the quilt has fabric with sewing items printed on it: scissors, spools of thread, etc. It was machine pieced using the traditional Stacked Bricks pattern and then hand quilted. There are red roses hand quilted around the black border. It has a label on the center front bottom, embroidered in red, which says,
