Embroidered Animals

Darlene M. still hopes she will be reunited with her long lost baby quilt. In a time of crisis, she and her mother had to flee and leave all of their possessions behind. Darlene hopes that the quilt turned up at Goodwill or some similar store, but she suspects it could have been thrown away. The quilt was last seen in 1982.

This is Darlene's baby quilt, made by her great-aunts. It was given to her mother when she was born. The blocks are embroidered with cute animals. Darlene believes it is mainly white and yellow and the embroidery is probably done in a single color, possibly brown with a few accent colors. There was a line-drawn animal in each block. There may have been about six blocks total. Her name and birthdate are embroidered on the quilt, "Darlene, April 23, 1066." Her middle name, Marie, may have also been included.

If you find a quilt that fits this decription, please contact Darlene through the Lost Quilt Come Home Page.
