Carole Vogel is asking for help locating a quilt that she made for her husband, Eric, for his 60th birthday. This quilt was last seen on February 4, 2016 when it was shipped from Penang, Malaysia to a quilter in Puyallup, Washington.
On June 21, 2016, Carole got the wonderful news that her quilt top finally arrived! Carole wrote, “Look what my quilter received today! I cried… Please let your website followers know miracles occasionally DO happen.” Her quilter wrote, “Look what came in the mail today!! I have never been so excited to see a quilt!!! It looks like it’s been through the war and so did the box but oh my GOSH this is so crazy 😃 😃 😃 😃 😃”
This original quilt is approximately 69″ by 87″. Each of the 24 squares contain a different machine embroidered classic car. There are embroidered gas pumps and car signs in the corners. The main colors are white, black, and red. The sashing and one border is fabric that has tire tread skid marks. The corner squares and another border are red and yellow flames. The backing fabric is dark blue with new model Ford Mustangs racing. The quilt was made in 2015.
