On July 8, 2005 Birgit Schüller carefully packaged two quilts designed especially for the 2005 Hoffman Challenge and shipped them from Germany to California. An original cape by Sue Smucker has disappeared from the 2004 Machine Quilter’s Showcase Quilt Show in Springfield, Illinois. The cape, “Mrs. Potter’s Evening Cape”, was last seen on May 6, 2004.
