Charlotte Maxwell hopes to locate a quilt that she made for her late sister. This quilt was last seen in November 2015 in Alpine, California. It was in the house and some time after her sister’s husband passed away in the hospital it disappeared. The executor of the estate has searched the house, but it is not there. The only other person who should have been in the house is the housekeeper and she says she doesn’t have it.
The king size quilt is mainly green, gold, orange, burgundy, and white. The center is a big checkerboard of multiple colors. The borders has appliqué pumpkins in the corners and vines, leaves, and pomegranates along the sides. The quilt is machine pieced, hand and machine appliquéd, and machine quilted. It has a label that says, “Nina’s Quilt, Made by Charlotte Maxwell, Chapel Hill, NC, April 2008.” The label is hand stitched to the bottom left corner on the back.
Charlotte says, “I just want the quilt returned to my family. The sentimental value is high for us.” If you find this quilt, please contact Charlotte at charlottemaxwell57@gmail.com.
