Yo-Yo Quilt

Edie Johnson is looking for a quilt made by her mother which was given to her daughter. The full size quilt is called Yo-Yo Flowers. This quilt consists of white blocks with different color borders around each block. Each block has flowers made of small, gathered circles (yo-yos of material with a button in the middle of each flower. The quilt is machine pieced. The yo-yo flowers are hand appliqued. The stems and leaves were embroidered with green floss. It was last seen during August 2007 in Downey, California. It was lost when her daughter was moving to Long Beach, California. The quilt was placed in a black plastic bag. It may have accidentally been placed with the things being given to charity.

  1. While cleaning out my attic I found a small ceramic vase in the shape of an elf shoe that has two birds sitting on a bittersweet branch painted on one side and a small branch of bittersweet painted on the opposite side of the shoe. On the bottom it says ‘handpainted by Edie Johnstone Vt. D8511.21’ Have I located the correct Edie Johnstone? Would you want the vase?

  2. Hi Cynthia. I contacted Edie and she indicated that the vase is not hers. Thanks so much for asking!
