Asian Elementals by Stephanie Vesik

Stephanie Vesik is searching for a quilted wall hanging called "Asian Elementals" which she made for Samuel Stem. It is an original quilt which is approximately 70" high by 50" wide. This quilt was last seen in New Braunfels, Texas. It was in a backpack strapped to a motorcycle. Someone cut the straps on the backpack and stole the bag with the contents.

Stephanie used four Kona Bay Emperor panels which she machine quilted and bound with black cotton. Each panel is hand embroidered to emphasize the gold foil highlights. Each panel is individually quilted to represent fire, air, earth, and wind with a Japanese symbol in the top banner’s binding. Each panel is held to one another by means of Velcro bridges. This was done so the quilt could be displayed either as a traditional two by two panel quilt or as a banner with four across. Each panel has two loops at the top for hanging. Stephanie labeled each panel on the back with black ink. It says, "To Grim (heart symbol) Steph."

If you find this quilt, please email Stephanie at firizia@yahoo.com.
