John Sauls reports that on November 3, 2010 this antique Compass Quilt was stolen from his exhibitor’s booth at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas. A police report was filed. Starburst in Turkey Red

Penny Church is hoping to recover a quilt called, "Starburst in Turkey Red" which her grandmother, Mary McEdward owned. There was a paper label attached with the name Florence Livingstone signed by Ethel. The quilt was made between 1860-1870. The quilt was last seen during 2007 in Sheridan, Wyoming. Cathy Nelson reports the theft of six quilts that were stolen from her father’s home in December 2006. The stolen quilts include a double wedding ring with a yellow background, a single wedding ring, a log cabin, a fan quilt, a Dresden plate, and a bear claw. Sharon Lemaire made a special quilt to raffle off to raise money for the hockey association. The quilt was made from hockey jerseys. Sharon also machine embroidered the kids’ names and the national team logos. Logos include the Red Wings, the Mighty Ducks, and the Red Devils. They were in the center aisle in the special friendship quilt exhibition, near the Country Home Magazine display booth. In 2004 Karen Hood made a quilt for Ginger White Maxwell. The 50″ by 60″ has multi-color, patchwork flower blocks and a large applique basket. The blocks are set on point.
