Dad's quilt by Jessica Matthews
For Christmas 2008 Jessica Matthews gave her father a special quilt. On New Year’s Eve 2008 it was stolen from her father’s house was broken into and it was stolen off his bed. They assume the theives threw everything on the quilt, then just wrapped it up and took off.
This is a queen to king size quilt. It is mostly blue, red, black and some green. About 90% of the fabric was bought from a specialty store. Most are reproduction fabrics or designer collections such as Thimbleberries. The backing is mostly blue flannel with multicolored snowflakes, and it was tied.

Stolen quilt
During October 2003, Quiltview Corner in Creston, British Columbia, Canada was broken into and four quilts were stolen. They were hanging on the ceiling of the quilt shop. The quilts were mostly made by Beth Swalwell with the help of Jean Swalwell. All four quilts were made from commercial patterns. The pictures shown here are from the pattern covers. The quilts were machine pieced and machine quilted. All the quilts were made between 2000 and 2003.
Cottage Rose (above) is a queen size and was made from a kit. This pattern is designed by Robyn Pandolph.
Twilight Garden was made from a lap size kit. This was made from an old Thimbleberries pattern (from about 7-8 years ago).
Stitches on the Oregon Trail is queen size and was made from a kit. This quilt has wool embellishments. This quilt pattern is designed by Lynne Hagmeier.
Nine patch quilt is a double size and is totally scrappy. It has solid black borders and sashing.
If you have any information about this theft, please contact Beth at [email protected].
Susan Abraham made a Crazy Log Cabin quilt using a Benartex foundation. She used scrappy fabrics in blue (navys and royals) and yellow. The 46″ by 50″ quilt is machine pieced. During the summer of 2001 she gave it to a professional machine quilter but it was never returned. Two other quilts have also not been returned. They include Baby Talk Flannel, a pastel quilt by Moda and Thimbleberries Farmhouse Flannels in green, cream and red.
