Yellow Tulips

Jan 13 2010

Ruth Young is hoping to recover a Yellow Tulips quilt made by Edith Linstrom Forsberg. The quilt was bequeathed to Laura Swanson, but her uncle, Reuben Lindstrom, took it when Edith died. Reuben’s wife, Bella Lindstrom, gave the quilt to a museum "back east." The quilt was last seen in November 1955 in Randolph, Kansas. Laura is now 95 years old and has always wondered what happened to this special quilt.

This quilt features yellow appliqued tulips on a white background with long, dark green stems. The fabrics were sateen. It is double bed size, and was hand appliqued and hand quilted sometime between 1915 and 1920.
