Quilted Walleye, front
During September 2008 Sue Rutford created her Quilted Walleye quilt to be part of the “Walleye School of Fish” exhibit at CivicFest, an event that took place in Minneapolis during the Republican Convention. Sadly, the organizer of the walleye art exhibit was unable to find the quilt after the exhibit was dismantled.
Quilted Walleye, back
This piece is actually two quilts that are mounted on opposite sides of a walleye-shaped piece of wood. They were mounted using heavy carpet tape, so it is possible they could have been removed from the wood and are no longer together. One quilt is pieced and the other quilt is fused. Each piece is about 4 feet wide by 2 feet high. The main colors are blues and greens. The fused quilt uses all hand-dyed fabrics. There is a label on the front of the top fin of the fused walleye quilt. The label has Sue’s name and August 2008.
If you find this quilt, please contact Sue at [email protected].
