The quilt, called “All Fifty States” was given to Kate’s grandparents, Harold and Emily Shand, to celebrate the fact that they had visited every state. A State Flower quilt made by Janet M. Beebe was lost in 1989 during a move from Monterey, California to Norfolk, Virginia. The Beebe’s were using Advance Moving Service but their name was not on the box containing the quilt so it could not be traced.
