Debra Gabel is searching for an original quilt, Queen of Hearts, that she was entering in the 2007 Hoffman Challenge. She shipped it on April 11, 2006 from the Highland, Maryland. Kris Bishop recently participated in an exhibit at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, Maryland. There was a self-portrait booklet on display, made by members of the group. This was a “touch me” booklet that viewers could flip through and touch the quilts. The quilts were secured in the book by three rings. Triangles Wedding Quilt

On September 11, 2001 a quilt was stolen from a home in Baltimore, Maryland. The twin sized Wedding Quilt was made by Martha Skeen in 1941. She used alternating triangles of white and multi-color pastels typical of 1940-1941. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. Lisa Brunstetter has reported that 200 child-size quilts were stolen from her car during December 1997. Around 1 PM on a Monday, she had stopped at the Marley Station Mall to pick up a Christmas gift. Firebird Round Robin

Kathleen Grover participated in a round robin during 1996. Each participant chose a ballet theme for her quilt and Kathleen chose Firebird. Two participants in the round robin group never received their quilt back and apparently both were kept by the same person. Susan Schwarz created this quilt, Springtime Bouquet, in response to the quilt challenge sponsored by The Childrens Inn, Bethesda, Maryland, a non-profit organization providing a family-centered residence for seriously ill children and their families. Quilters in the Washington, DC area were invited to participate in a challenge quilt event for The Childrens Inn at NIH (National Institutes of Health) in Bethesda, Maryland.
