Peaceful Garden
In 2003 a group of staff members at The Glebe Center in Ottawa, Canada came together to make this stained glass quilt. They modified a commercial pattern called Stained Glass Garden to create their quilt. Their quilt was displayed on the wall of the Worship Centre. On Monday, March 20, 2006 someone stood on the altar and stole the quilt that was intended to bring joy to the elderly residents.
This quilt is 60" square. The main colors are pale blue, pink, yellow, violet, and green hand-dyed fabric. The names of all the participating quilters are embroidered on the label which is hand appliqued to the bottom left of the backing. The fabric was purchased from donations and made with love by staff members during their lunch breaks. A police report was filed.
If you have any information about the disappearance of this quilt, please contact Mary Pal at [email protected].
