Texas Star

Sharon Smith is searching for a quilt made by her mother Lola Turner. The quilt is a king-size Texas Star. The star is yellow on a white background. It was hand pieced and hand quilted in 1980. Sharon writes, "My mother made this quilt from scraps of clothing bought at a Goodwill store. She sold the quilt to buy groceries for her children when times were very hard." Sharon remembers that the quilt was sold at a consignment shop in Hazard, Kentucky.

Sharon continues, "My mother passed away in March 2002. I remember how hard she worked on this quilt... If anyone could help me find this quilt it would sure make me trememdously happy." If you have any information about this quilt, please contact Sharon through the Lost Quilt Come Home Page.
