Recovered!
Sunbonnet Kitties

On May 28, 2006 this Sunbonnet Kitties quilt was mailed from the US Post Office in Wausau, Wisconsin but it never arrived at its destination. The quilt was made as a surprise for a friend who is expecting a new baby girl.

This package was mistakenly delivered to an old mailbox where it sat for almost four weeks before it was recovered.

This quilt is machine appliqued and machine quilted. It was made by Kristin Leszczynski and Karen Ainsley. The main colors are peach, orange, polka dots, and plaids. The 54" by 54" quilt is made from the deceased mother's clothing. The label has a poem along with pictures of the mom-to-be and her mother who is now deceased.
