State Flower Quilt

A State Flower quilt made by Janet M. Beebe was lost in 1989 during a move from Monterey, California to Norfolk, Virginia. The Beebe's were using Advance Moving Service but their name was not on the box containing the quilt so it could not be traced.

Janet used Aunt Martha's State Flower hot iron transfers to make her embroidered quilt in 1976. Each block has an embroidered picture of the state flower and a scroll with the name of the state. The quilt is about 56" by 72". The main fabrics used are natural muslin and light green broadcloth. There is a simple rose design on the green blocks and the quilt has a fan pattern on the edges. "Jan" is embroidered in black floss on one of the bottom corners of the backing.

Please contact Janet through the Lost Quilt Come Home Page if you have seen a quilt that matches this description.
