Recovered!
Square Dancing Circles
Jacki Zuest's quilt, "Square Dancing Circles", was stolen from the Napa Town and Country Fair on Wednesday, July 21, 2004. On September 29, 2004 she rejoiced, "[I] am very, very happy to report that this quilt has been recovered due to the diligence of the Napa Police Department...My deepest and most heartfelt thanks to them." Jacki doesn't know many details, other than that the police recovered two (hers and one other) of the five quilts missing from the fair.
The 42.25" by 66" quilt was made using the "Jewel Squares" pattern as seen in Kaffe Fassett's book, "Glorious Patchwork". The main colors are orange, yellow, mauve and pink. Various sizes of circles were used to quilt the center. Piano keys were quilted into the border. This quilt is machine pieced and machine quilted. It has a label hand stitched to the bottom right hand corner with Jacki's name, city and date completed, April 2004.
