Simple Gifts

Joan K. Carter had completed five of nine squares of Mary Sorensen's pattern, Simple Gifts, when they were stolen from a van along with other fabrics and patterns. There were two unfinished quilt tops stolen and a hand-pieced top made at The Gathering with Mary Sorensen at My Dora Lakeside Hotel. The other unfinished quilt top that was stolen is hand appliqued and is called "World Without End." These stolen items were last seen in April 2003 in Port Orange, Florida.

The five blocks are made with pastels and multi-colored fabrics. They include butterflies, vines and berries. They are all hand appliqued. The picture of the pattern used can be seen on Mary Sorensen's website, http://www.maryappliques.com/multiple_block.htm (third picture down).

If you've seen blocks like these, please contact Joan through the Lost Quilt Come Home Page.
