Sampler Quilt

In 1998-99 Lorene Gruber made a queen-sized Sampler Quilt using Diana Leone's book, " The New Sampler Quilt." (Published by C&T Publishing Inc., image used with permission.)

Lorene last saw her quilt on February 24, 2002 at the Polish American Hall in Port St. Lucie, Florida where a quilt show had been held. After the show was finished all of the quilts, including Lorene's, had been taken down, folded, and placed on tables. Lorene's quilt ended up missing.

The main colors of this quilt are black, pink and gray. Each block of the quilt was framed in black before the sashing was applied. It was hand and machine pieced, and hand quilted. The hand appliqued label has Lorene's name, the date and information about making the blocks.

If you know where this quilt is, please contact Lorene at [email protected].
