Red, White and Blue Sailboats
Brenda Medley Brewer would like to recover a quilt that was accidentally left at Okeena Park in Dyersburg, Tennessee in June 1985. Brenda was attending her 10 year high school reunion at the park. She was busy packing up three small children and their belongings in the car and somehow the quilt was left behind. Three hours later she discovered the quilt was missing but by then it was gone from the park.
This quilt is made of red, white and blue sailboats blocks. Different size red check triangles and squares were put together with off-white pieces to form the sailboats. The blocks were joined with blue checked blocks and sashing. The double bed sized quilt was made from a commercial pattern. It was machine pieced and hand quilted in 1976.
Brenda writes, "This quilt has a great deal of sentimental value as it was the first quilt I ever made and my mother who is now deceased helped me hand quilt it. I can offer a reward to expedite its return and will gladly pay shipping and handling with no questions asked."
If you know of a quilt that fits this description, please contact Brenda at [email protected].
