Red and White Signature Quilt
About 1990, Jackie Duty sent a Red and White Signature Quilt to her sister so it could be entered in a quilt show. She sent the quilt from Riverside, California to Newcastle, Wyoming. She sent the quilt via UPS but it never arrived. The quilt was insured, but nothing could replace this part of her family's heritage.
The double size, white quilt has red squares and hand embroidered names stitched in red. The blocks look similar to the Ohio Star block shown at the top of this page. The quilt is probably 100 percent cotton. The quilt was embroidered with the names of her father's Sunday School class and dates back to the mid-1930's. One of the names will be Durward E. Zingery, Jackie's father.
If you know about this quilt, please contact Jackie's daughter, Jillian Duty, at [email protected]. Jillian wrote, "I would love to find this precious family heirloom and return in to my mother. Thank you for your help..."
