Rail Fence Quilt Stolen

Allison Tipton, age 11, and Katy Dunlap, also age 11, made a pastel Rail Fence quilt based on a pattern from the book, "Start Quilting with Alex Anderson." In June 2001, they went to a church camp and brought the quilt along to put it in a competition. The trailer containing the quilt was stolen. The quilt was last seen in Posen, Illinois.

This quilt was the first one they ever made. The two girls machine pieced the twin size quilt and tied it with yarn. Their names were embroidered directly on the back of the quilt with pink embroidery floss. It said, "Allison, Katy, 2001." On a bright note, they did have a picture of their quilt and won first place in the competition based on the picture!

If you have seen a quilt that fits this description, please contact Allison at [email protected].
