Raffle Quilt
Lorraine M. Kalisz hopes to recover a raffle quilt she made for a fundraiser for the C.T. Plunkett Elementary School Library of Adams, Massachussetts. It was last seen on September 13, 2005 at Tala's Quilt Shop, Heritage Park, North Adams, Massachussetts. It was on display on a quilt rack in order to sell raffle tickets. Some time between Septeberm 13 and September 14 someone entered the shop after hours and stole the quilt. No other quilt was missing and no money was taken. A police report was filed but it was never recovered. The quilt shop made a replacement quilt for the raffle.
This is a queen size quilt, approximately 84" by 96". The main colors are rich reds, blues, blacks and neutrals. Most of the fabrics are reproduction Civil War prints. Thirty different prints were used (shown below). Lorraine used a quilt pattern called Nite-Nite by U Can 2, Quick and Easy Quilts by Eileen Sullivan. It was finished in December 2004 and there is no label.
