0 Petals to the Metal

Lori Maze is asking for help in recovering her quilt, "Petals to the Metal," that was stolen from the Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa, California. It was stolen from the area where quilt entries were to be picked up by the exhibitors after the fair was over. Lori last saw her quilt on July 31, 2006.

Lori used a commercial pattern, "Another Day in Paradise" designed by Cindy Cooksey. This quilt is 41" by 41". Lori used bright solids and batiks along with blues, tans, and Hawaiian florals. It is machine pieced, machine appliqued, and machine quilted. There are flower-shaped buttons used for hubcaps. There are also an appliqued kayak, surfboard, canoe, innertube, campfire, umbrella and beach ball on the blocks, as well as a beaded firework burst on one of the blocks. This quilt has an embroidered, flower-shaped label that says, "Petals to the Metal, For my Sweet Pea, Love Mommy 2006."

If you can help, please contact Lori through the Lost Quilt Come Home Page.
