Peacock Quilt

The search is on for a pieced peacock quilt made by Leaty Pernecia Garner Terry for her son, James W. Terry. This full-size quilt is an original, pieced design. It features a strutting peacock made with various scrap and feedsack fabrics. It was hand pieced and hand quilted in the 1970's. The quilt was last seen in 1974 in Fayette County, Alabama.

Leaty had shown the quilt to her son at one time, but since he was in the US Navy at the time, he asked her to keep it for him until he came home. Since that time the maker passed away and the quilt has been misplaced. Items were taken from the house by family and non-family members.

If you've seen a quilt that fits this description, please contact Jennifer and James at [email protected].
