Ohio Rose

Lisa Barker hopes to recover an Ohio Rose quilt made by Margaret Thompson Hays and Olive Belle Hays Haas, Lisa's great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. In the early 1970's, her grandmother was in need of money so she advertised the quilt in the paper. A decorator from Columbus, Georgia drove to Macon and persuaded Lisa's grandmother to sell it at a much reduced price from what she was asking because it had some spots on it.

The quilt was made for a single bed. The main colors are red and white. It is hand pieced, hand appliqued, and hand quilted. Lisa estimates it was made about 1900.

Lisa would like to find this quilt and she is willing to pay a reasonable price for it. If you've seen this quilt, please contact her through the Lost Quilt Come Home Page.
