Nuclear Explosion

In 1990 Nicole Osborn began making a Nuclear Explosion quilt for Michael A. James. It took her until 1997 to finish it. Now that quilt is missing. It was last seen in North Hollywood, California. It had been entrusted to a friend who apparently ended up giving it to a thrift store somewhere in the San Fernando Valley.

This quilt is an original design that features nuclear mushroom clouds (stuffed to create a 3-D look), atomic symbol, and the nuclear waste warning symbols. The background ranges from light blue/gray to dark blue. The quilt is machine pieced and machine appliqued. It also has hand appliqued ribbons around the machine appliqued pieces.

If you have any information about this quilt, please contact Nicole through the Lost Quilt Come Home Page.
