New York Beauty / Applique Flower / Irish Chain

In 1997, Darcy Pattison went to Fraser, Colorado for a skiing vacation. She brought a quilt with her to work on, but it got lost somewhere in Fraser or during her trip back to Little Rock, Arkansas. The quilt is unfinished, only partially quilted. It was in a pillowcase when she last saw it.

The double bed sized quilt is an original design where the blocks are set diagonally. In the center are two large New York Beauty blocks. They are set together with an Irish Chain variation. In the two opposing corners are blocks of appliqued flowers. The border has an appliqued scallop. The main colors are burgundy, pink, tan, and a paisley print. It is machine pieced, hand appliqued, and hand quilted. It also has buttons and embroidery on the appliqued blocks.

Please contact Darcy at [email protected] if you've seen this quilt.
