Crazy Quilt made by Napa Valley Needlers
The ladies of the Napa Valley Needlers were proud to display their crazy quilt at the Napa Town and Country Fairgrounds, but on July 29, 2004 someone broke into Riesling Hall and stole their quilt. The 66" by 74" quilt was made of many different, multi-colored blocks. Many of the blocks are heavily embellished with embroidery and beading. The borders are dark green and the quilt is hand tied. The backing is cotton fabric. One of the blocks is embroidered with the name "Michiko."
Mysteriously, the quilt was found several months later in a bag on the sidewalk between the police station and City Hall in Napa. They don't know who had it, but they were very thankful to find it in good condition.
