My Brother Charlie
Charlotte Lorenzo needs help locating a quilt she made at the Asilomar Empty Spools Seminar in Pacific Grove, California. It was taken from a meeting room on September 1, 2009. Charlotte was taking a Mary Lou Weidman workshop.
This quilt is approximately 65" by 58". It features a large pink pokla-dot dinosaur with a boy reading a book on his back. (The photo to the left shows this quilt as it was being made before the boy was added.) There is also a palm tree with bright colored fronds on it. The background is lime green and about the top one-third is a blue and white plaid. The border is lime green, turquoise, hot pink and royal blue using Mary Lou's "Hoochy Mama" blocks. The background and border were made first and then the story part of the quilt was made. This quilt is machine pieced and fused applique. It is still under construction, so it does not have a label.
Please contact Charlotte at [email protected] if you find this quilt.
