Mason's Quilt
During the Spring of 2002 Lisa McGrattan mailed a quilt to Mason Harris. The quilt was a surprise for Mason who was 20 months old. Lisa was replacing his baby quilt with one designed with a toddler/preschooler in mind. She mailed it from Painesville, Ohio and it was destined for Georgia. The box never arrived and the mail delivery person states she never delivered one. The postal service told her there was nothing that could be done since she did not place a delivery number on the package.
Lisa machine pieced and machine quilted this 40" by 60" toddler's quilt. She used a Roman Stripe block. The large triangles are solid red, blue, green and yellow. The strips were a mixture of different children's fabrics including Teletubbies, Raggedy Ann and Andy, 30's reprints, ladybugs and insects, and farm animals. Samples of some of the fabrics she used are shown above and to the right.
The package also contained a small 20" by 20" bear/doll quilt that Lisa made from leftover blocks.
If you can help recover this quilt, please contact Lisa at [email protected].
