Lavendar and White Gingham Quilt
A simple lavendar and white gingham checked quilt was made for Kathy Hilton Chrisman by her grandmother Elizabeth Andersen and her great-grandmother Mabel Wylie. When it needed some repairs around 1976-1978, Kathy brought it back to her grandmother, and somehow it became lost. Her grandmother was getting ready to move to Grandview, Missouri at the time and she had a big sale in Overland Park, Kansas. Although it was not intentionally sold at that time, the quilt disappeared during that time period.
Kathy wrote, "My grandmother looked for the quilt after they moved and never could find it. I just know something happened to it during the sale. Since my grandmother is gone I have no other way of finding it. This quilt is a simple quilt but means alot to me because both my grandmother and great grandmother did the hand quilting on it. I would like to be able to locate it so my daughters and grandchildren can have it."
This double size quilt was machine pieced and hand quilted. In one corner they embroidered with lavendar floss "Kathie Hilton 1966 Grandma Andersen and Grandma Wylie." Please help Kathy find this quilt. You can contact her at [email protected].
