Journal Quilts
Elizabeth Spilker is searching for seven journal quilts that were lost in Columbus, Ohio. She had brought them as examples for a class she was teaching at Quilt Trends. Elizabeth thinks they fell out of the bag she was carrying. She lost them on or near Nationwide Blvd. in downtown Columbus on Wednesday, April 20, 2005. They could have been lost inside the walkways or on the street.
The seven 8-1/2" by 11" quilts were packaged together in a single plastic bag. As far as she can remember, none of the quilts were labeled although it is possible. Six of them were quilted and the seventh was just a top pieced layered with batting and backing. None of them were bound yet. The quilts all had a lot of embellishments and each of them had letters and lettering on them as well as some Greek words. Each quilt pictorially represented a verse from the Beatitudes found in Matthew 5 in the Bible.
