Heirloom Dresden Plates

One June 21, 2004 Mary Ann Schmidt mailed a Dresden Plate quilt from Bell, California using the US Postal Service. The quilt never arrived at its destination.

The double size quilt has a white background and a black and white border. The blocks are multicolor, 1930's Dresden plates. The plain blocks have black, machine-embroidered daisies tied with black and white perle cotton. The backing is heirloom Irish linen. The batting is wool. It is machine pieced and hand appliqued. The quilt has a label which says, "Made by Mary Ann Schmidt, Thread Bare Co 2004."
