Half Square Triangle Quilt
Peggy Hallstrom needs help finding a quilt made by her great-grandmother, Bessie Maude Curtis. The quilt was last seen in Coon Rapids, Minnesota in 1997. It may have been donated when her parent's house was emptied in order to sell it.
This quilt is a double size, scrappy, multi-colored quilt made with muslin and feed sack prints. It is tied with purple-red yarn. Both the front and back are pieced. The quilt is filled with a very thick layer of hand-carded wool from her grandparent's sheep ranch in South Dakota. It is about an inch thick. The quilt was made in 1940.
Peggy would also like to locate a pinwheel bandana quilt made by Joan and Peggy Haines. This one is a twin size quilt that is mainly red and blue. It was made in 1973, and was last seen around 1990. It was lost in Sioux Falls, South Dakota when the quilt was used to wrap a piece of furniture during am moved, and it disappeared from the truck.
Please contact Peggy through the Lost Quilt Come Home Page if you've seen either of these quilts.
