Green and Orange Pinwheel Quilt

Susan Harman-Scott would like to recover a Green and Orange Pinwheel Quilt which was made by Susan Josephine Coker in 1862. The full-size quilt is appliqued with approximately nine pinwheels in tan, light green, and orange on a white background. The craftsmanship on this quilt is exquisite and the stitches are smaller than those made by a machine. The quilting includes a border of "quills" and other fancy designs. It is hand pieced, hand appliqued and hand quilted. It has a label stitched to the front that says, "Susan Josephine Coker, October 12, 1862."

This quilt was last seen in November 1988. If you have any information about this quilt, please contact Susan at [email protected].
