Going Full Circle

In 1996 Edna J. Patterson-Petty placed her original quilt, Going Full Circle in a gallery in Annapolis, Maryland. The gallery owner told Edna that she had a potential buyer. However, that was the last that Edna heard from her. While Edna has made repeated phone calls, the gallery owner has not return her calls or her quilt.

This 26" by 36" quilt is machine pieced, machine appliqued, and hand quilted. At the center top and bottom are interlocking circles/wedding rings. The rings also denote beginning, end, life and death. In the center is a large X. Next to the X are abstract images of a crocodile which is a Ghanaian symbol. The main color is purple and the images are made from ethnic fabric. Edna's name is on the back of the quilt along with the date it was made, 1994. Her signature is also on the front.

If you can help with the recovery of this quilt, please contact Edna at [email protected].
