Fox and Friends
In 2002, Fleur Grubits made a quilt for Ross Stewart using the "Fox and Friends" commercial pattern designed by Lynette Anderson of The Patchwork Angel. The quilt was on display at the Stewarts Sewing Machine Center in Tasmania, Australia when it disappeared during early December 2002. At the time of the theft, the quilt was not completely finished. It still had pins holding the binding down.
The picture shown here is NOT the quilt that is missing. It is the picture from the commercial pattern and has been used with permission.
The 64" by 72" quilt has an appliqued center surrounded by log cabin blocks, followed by another border of appliqued flowers and animals. The center panel consists of pumpkins, sunflowers, and a building. Underneath is a fox with a black bird on his back. This quilt incorporates fabrics from Nancy's Harvest Flannels line. The quilt is machine pieced, machine appliqued and machine quilted.
