Everyday Poems and Narrative Series 2: Quotations
In 1993 Anna Torma entered her quilt, "Everyday Poems" (shown on top) in a show called "L'autre Europe, 12, Triennale of Tapestries." During the press night, the quilt was stolen from the wall it was hanging on. The quilt was last seen on June 20, 1993 in Tournai, Belgium.
"Everyday Poems" is an original design by Anna. The 44" by 45" (113 cm by 115 cm) quilt was made in 1992. It is hand embroidered and hand quilted on plain white cotton. The label is embroidered directly on the upper middle surface.
In 2000 Anna entered a different quilt, "Narrative Series 2: Quotations" (shown below) in a show at the Slusser Gallery in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This quilt was last seen on July 30, 2000 when the gallery sent the quilt back to Anna using the US Postal Service but it was never delivered and the gallery had no receipt.
This 45" by 82" (115 cm by 207 cm) quilt was made in 1999 and it is hand embroidered with satin stitches on a white linen and cotton patchwork surface. Unfortunately, this quilt is not signed.
Please contact Anna at [email protected] if you can help her locate either of these quilts.
