Butterfly Scrap Quilt
Lucinda (Cindy) McVey is searching for a Butterfly Scrap Quilt which was made by Grace A. Green. It is full-bed size. Yellow is the dominant color, and the sashing and borders are lilac. The quilt was made in 1968. It was last seen in 1970 or 1971 when it was misplaced during a move from Oklahoma to Indianapolis. Her husband stored some of their belongings in a small junk/furniture store on East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. When they went back to collect their belongings, the store had changed hands and their stuff was gone, including Lucinda's quilt, a china dog collection, her great-grandmother's blue pin dot china shoes, etc. This was the only quilt her grandmother had made for her. It was quilted by machine in a rounded zigzap stitch about 1" apart. The binding was wrapped from the back. The butterflies had rounded wings and were appliqued in black floss.
