Margaret Rebecca Singleton Rose Brooksher Quilt
Margaret Brewer was searching for a quilt made by her great-grandmother, Margaret Rebecca Singleton Rose Brooksher. The last known owner was Ethel Foster of Muskogee, Oklahoma who was a granddaughter. Ethel had been persuaded to sell the quilt to a man who claimed he was going to establish a quilt museum near Branson, Missouri in Eureka Springs. Margaret had never found this museum. A picture of the quilt is on page 65 of the book, "Oklahoma Heritage Quilts," by the Oklahoma Quilt Heritage Project.
In May 2007, Margaret wrote, "I am very happy to report that a Quilt Museum in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, has finally been opened, and Margaret Rebecca's quilt is there now. So I guess that that is the best place for the quilt to be, since it had its place in civil war history."
