Blue Batik Drunkard's Path
During 2000, Linda Kay Gapp made a Blue Batik Drunkard's Path quilt for her daughter, Laura. On October 15, 2001 she used UPS to ship the quilt to her daughter in Iowa City, Iowa. On October 17, the UPS driver left it at Laura's apartment door without obtaining a signature. Even though she was home at the time writing a paper, she did not hear a knock and the box containing quilt was stolen.
This quilt is 92" by 70". It uses a striking Bali blue batik fabric with white. The backing is also blue batik. It is machine pieced and machine quilted. The label, sewn to the lower back corner, says: "Made by Linda Gapp for my daughter Laura Beth, December 2000, Lincoln, Nebraska."
Linda says, "I am heartbroken at the loss. My daughter, Laura, was home that summer and helped me cut out the quilt. So this became a special bond between us."
If you can help find this quilt, please contact Linda at [email protected].
