Bible Quilt
In 1980, Priscilla Petraska's Bible Quilt was stolen from the Cheshire Fair in North Swanzey, New Hampshire. After all these years the mystery still has not been solved.
The double bed sized quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted. Each block represents a different book in the Bible. The first block for Genesis is a Tree of Life design. Each piece of the tree is an apple print. The last block in the lower corner represents the book of Revelation and is a variation of Courthouse Steps, "Knock and Door shall be Open." For the Children of Israel, she embroidered the word "Israel" in Hebrew. The quilt was made in 1980 and it does not have a label.
