Beatrix Potter Baby Quilt

Priscilla Wilbur still misses the Beatrix Potter baby quilt that was inside a piece of luggage that was stolen from the Seattle-Tacoma airport in November 1985. She holds onto the slim hope that this quilt is still out there somewhere.

The crib-size quilt was made for her daughter. She embroidered each square with a Beatrix Potter character including Jeremy Fisher, Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddleduck, Benjamin Bunny, the Two Bad Mice, Mrs. Tiggy Winkle, as well as others. The quilt is a tufted quilt with alternating squares of baby pink and triangles of blue rosebud calico. This was the first quilt she had ever made.

If you know anything about this quilt, please contact Priscilla at [email protected].
